The Town and the RCMP are working to develop strategic priorities for local policing, as part of our Municipal Policing Services Agreement.

In 2022, when the Town was working through a Policing Services Review, community engagement suggested six main areas of potential priority focus:

  • Road traffic and road safety
  • Nuisance party enforcement
  • Protection of property
  • Protection of persons
  • Community engagement – walking and talking the streets
  • Addressing crimes against vulnerable populations

To help set our current strategic priorities, we would like community feedback to help determine if the 2022 priority focus areas are still relevant, or if there are new areas that should have priority focus.

Please complete our Strategic Priorities for Policing Survey to share your insights and ideas.

If you would prefer to share your thoughts directly with staff, or if you would feel supported by accommodations, please contact Barb Shaw at 902-679-9124.
